The centre for Industrial and Commercial Optoelectronics is based in the School of Electronic Engineering at Bangor University. ICON has a Mission to “make light work” for business through the creative use of existing Optoelectronics and electronics.

The centre’s achievements in industrial collaboration have been recognised by its appointment as a Centre of Excellence for Technology and Industrial Collaboration (CETIC) - an accreditation scheme managed by the Welsh Assembly Government and part funded by the European Union.
